Materials for panel curtains

Panel curtains mainly consist of synthetic fabrics since these are well to process, easy to care, stay in shape, can be designed with most various design techniques and equipped with functional properties. As a panel curtain is supposed to remain very smooth all fabrics, especially very thin ones, are reinforced by coatings in order to prevent unpleasant folds, waves or stretching after some time.

Polyester

Polyester fabric is highly suitable for this purpose and can be designed in various ways by means of printing and fabric techniques.
Even natural fabrics such as wood, bamboo, leather and paper can be perfectly imitated by polyester and thus an interesting light and interior design can be achieved.
Furthermore it is easy to clean, resistant to dirt and moisture and can be used in functional rooms such as moisture-proof rooms or work rooms.
In the living area as well they appear very decorative due to various textile structures or digital photo prints and can cover the entire range from transparent to darkening by means of using different fabric densities and colors in their transparence.

Blended fabric

Blended fabrics are often used for panel curtains as well. They are able to emphasize beautiful fabric structures which provide a homey optic and haptic at the same time. Cotton-polyester-fabrics, linen-polyester fabrics, but metal threads for glittering effects or the combination with polyamide viscose and nylon fibers give each fabric a special character.

Trevira CS

The permanently hard flammable Trevira CS fabric provides particularly high demands regarding safety and functionality. Different to fabrics which were coated and impregnated subsequently and therefore may lose this protection due to washing or wear the flame-retarding phosphor-organic mixture of Trevira fabrics is permanently present.  Furthermore, Trevira fabrics are certified according to the Ökotex 100 standard.

Natural fabrics

Basically each material which can be somehow turned into a plane can be used for a panel curtain. As long as costs and effort, design and care stand in a healthy relation there is nothing to be said against making panel curtains from silk, paper, plant fibers, leather, fur, woof, bird feathers or any other things. From a certain weight on, however, one will not speak of panel “curtains” any longer but rather of sliding walls instead.
